Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to MyWild. MyWild is operated by ProFunnel LLC ("MyWild," "we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website at mywild.report and use our services, how we use and share that information, and the choices and rights you have. By using MyWild, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you interact with MyWild:
Information you provide to us:
- Contact and subscription details: your email address, and, when you sign up for forecast emails, your ZIP code, city, state, and which products you want to hear about (such as ticks, mosquitoes, or product launches).
- Location searches: the ZIP code, address, place name, or city you type into our location search field to get a forecast.
- Order and payment details: if you purchase a MyWild product (such as Field Guard at
/spray), your name, email, phone number, billing address, and shipping address. Payment card information is collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and is not stored on our servers. - Other communications: any information you include when you contact us by email.
Information collected automatically when you use the site:
- Technical data: your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system and platform, device information, and similar technology used to access the site.
- Usage data: information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, referring pages, links and buttons clicked, and time spent on pages.
- Session activity: through Microsoft Clarity we capture anonymized session recordings and heatmaps (mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and navigation). Text you enter in form fields, such as ZIP codes and email addresses, is masked by default and is not recorded.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4.
Location information:
- Approximate location: derived from the ZIP code or place you enter, and from your IP address.
- Precise location: if you tap "Use my current location" and grant your browser's permission, we read your device's GPS coordinates in order to find your area. See Section 8 for how this is processed.
Information we derive:
- For some subscribers who signed up before our form captured a ZIP code, we estimated a ZIP code from the city and state on file using a third party ZIP database. A derived ZIP is an approximation of your area center, not a value you provided. You can correct it at any time using the location update link in our emails.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our forecasts, content, and services.
- Show you risk forecasts and information for your location.
- Send you the forecast emails and product notifications you sign up for.
- Process and fulfill product orders, including shipping and customer support.
- Show phone numbers you can call to reach a local service provider.
- Measure how the site is used so we can improve it.
- Display advertising and recommend relevant products and services.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your choices, measure usage, serve advertising, and attribute referrals. These include:
- Essential and preference storage: we use your browser's local storage to remember things like whether you have dismissed our email signup prompt, so we do not repeatedly show it.
- Analytics: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies to help us understand how the site is used (see Section 5).
- Advertising: Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve and personalize ads (see Section 6).
- Affiliate tracking: when you click an affiliate link, the partner network may set a first or third party cookie so any resulting purchase or booking can be attributed to MyWild (see Section 7).
- Consent verification: TrustedForm may record a certificate of your interaction when you choose to contact a service provider through the site (see Section 11).
You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to tell you when a cookie is being set. Some features of the site may not function properly without certain cookies. You can also use the opt out tools described in the relevant sections below.
5. Analytics and Session Recording
We use third party analytics services to understand how visitors use our service and improve it:
- Google Analytics collects aggregated usage data such as pageviews, referrers, device information, and certain events (for example, clicking a phone call button or an affiliate link). You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity captures anonymized session recordings and heatmaps, including mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and page navigation, to help us diagnose usability issues. Text entered in form fields (such as ZIP codes and email addresses) is masked by default and is not recorded. Clarity processes this data on our behalf under Microsoft's privacy terms. For more information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can prevent Clarity from recording your session by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or by using a privacy focused browser extension.
6. Advertising
We display advertising on parts of the site, including through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other websites, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to MyWild and other sites.
You can control personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, learn more from Google's advertising policies, and opt out of personalized advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance.
7. Affiliate Links and Disclosures
Some links on MyWild are affiliate links. This means we may earn a commission, at no additional cost to you, when you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or booking on the partner's site within that partner's attribution window. These commissions help fund the data and content we provide. We only feature partners and products we believe are genuinely useful for outdoor recreation, trip planning, and pest prevention.
MyWild may participate in affiliate marketing programs with, among others, Amazon Associates, Expedia Group / Vrbo, TripAdvisor / Viator, Booking.com, Boatsetter and GetMyBoat, FishingBooker, and Click&Boat, including through affiliate networks such as CJ Affiliate, FlexOffers, Impact, and Partnerize. Not all of these programs are active at any given time, and we may add or remove partners.
MyWild is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you click an affiliate link, the partner or its network may set a first or third party cookie in your browser so any resulting purchase or booking can be attributed to MyWild. Cookie lifetimes vary by partner. The partner processes any information it collects under its own privacy policy.
8. Location and Search Data
When you type into our location search field, or tap "Use my current location" and grant your browser's permission, your search text or your device's GPS coordinates are sent to Mapbox, our third party location and mapping provider, so it can return matching addresses, cities, or places. Mapbox receives this data along with your IP address and a per session identifier and processes it under its own privacy policy. These requests are sent directly from your browser to Mapbox. We do not store your search queries or precise coordinates on our servers; we use the result only to show you a forecast for your area.
Precise geolocation is used only when you actively request it, and you can decline or revoke the browser permission at any time. If you decline, you can still get a forecast by entering a ZIP code or place name.
9. Payments and Orders
When you place an order for a MyWild product, we use Stripe to process your payment. Stripe collects your name, email, phone number, billing address, shipping address, and payment method on our behalf, subject to Stripe's privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; Stripe handles that under PCI-DSS standards.
After a purchase, we receive an order confirmation that includes your name, contact details, shipping address, and order summary so we can fulfill and ship your order and provide support. We retain order records for at least four years to meet tax, returns, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations. We do not sell your order information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
10. Email Communications
If you sign up, we send forecast emails and product notifications. These emails are delivered through Resend, our email service provider, which processes your email address and delivery events (such as opens, clicks, bounces, and spam complaints) on our behalf so we can deliver mail reliably and keep our list healthy.
Our forecast emails are sent on an automated schedule based on the location and product preferences on file. Every marketing email includes a one click unsubscribe link and a postal mailing address, in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act (US) and, where applicable, CASL (Canada). Unsubscribing from one product (for example, ticks) does not unsubscribe you from another (for example, mosquitoes); each can be managed separately. You can also update the ZIP code tied to your subscription using the location update link in our emails. If an email address hard bounces or is reported as spam, we automatically stop sending to it.
Newsletter recommendations. Right after you subscribe, we may show a short list of other newsletters through SparkLoop, a recommendations service. To show it, your email address is passed to SparkLoop. It is shared with another newsletter only if you tick that newsletter and confirm, and that newsletter's own privacy policy then applies. We may be paid when you join one. Skipping the list changes nothing about your MyWild subscription.
Product waitlist email collection. When you sign up to be notified about a MyWild product launch or restock (such as Field Guard by MyWild at /spray), we collect your email address to send you a notification when the product is available. We do not share these addresses with third parties for their own marketing.
11. Calling a Local Service Provider
On parts of MyWild we display a phone number you can call to reach a local pest control specialist. We do not collect this information through a web form. When you tap or dial that number, you place a phone call that is connected and handled entirely by our partner, Service Direct, and the independent local service provider it routes you to.
We do not collect or store the contents of that call. Service Direct and the provider you are connected to may record and process the call, and may contact you back, under their own privacy policies. Calling is entirely your choice and is never required to use MyWild's forecast products.
You may ask the provider to stop contacting you at any time, and you may also use the Do Not Contact process described in Section 18. We do not sell your information to third parties, ad networks, or data brokers.
12. Service Providers and Third Parties
We rely on trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, and on third parties that you interact with directly through our site. These include:
- Supabase for database hosting of subscriber and order records.
- Stripe for payment processing (see Section 9).
- Resend for email delivery (see Section 10).
- SparkLoop for the newsletter recommendations shown after you subscribe (see Section 10).
- Mapbox for location search and geocoding (see Section 8).
- Google for Analytics and AdSense advertising (see Sections 5 and 6).
- Microsoft Clarity for session analytics (see Section 5).
- TrustedForm (ActiveProspect) for consent verification when you contact a service provider (see Section 11).
- Affiliate networks and partners as described in Section 7.
- Service Direct and the local service providers it connects your calls to (see Section 11).
We also use weather and geocoding data sources (such as the National Weather Service, Open-Meteo, USGS, and a ZIP code lookup service) to generate forecasts. These receive only location coordinates or ZIP codes, not your identity. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyWild, our users, or others.
13. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. In general:
- Email subscriptions: retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward; unsubscribing stops mailings, and you may request deletion.
- Order records: retained for at least four years for tax, returns, and accounting purposes.
- Analytics and advertising data: retained per the providers' standard retention settings.
14. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls on our databases and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on the state you reside in, you may have specific rights under applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CDPA), Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act (DPDPA), Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR), Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (ICDPA), Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act (IADCPA), Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA), Nebraska Data Privacy Act (NDPA), New Hampshire's SB 255-FN (NHDPA), New Jersey Data Privacy Act (NJDPA), Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA), Tennessee Information Protection Act (TIPA), Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), as applicable.
These rights may include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to access and obtain a copy of that information, the right to request deletion or correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, and the right to non discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws define "sharing" or "sale" broadly to include the use of advertising cookies; you can limit this using the controls in Section 6.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@profunnel.ai. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the time periods required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
16. International Visitors
If you visit MyWild from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR may apply to processing of your personal data. The legal bases for processing are your consent (for example, for marketing email and location search), the performance of a contract (for example, fulfilling an order), and our legitimate interests (for example, site analytics and providing the forecast product). You may withdraw consent and request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
17. Children's Privacy
MyWild is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
18. Do Not Call / Do Not Contact Requests
You may request that you no longer be contacted at a given phone number by emailing contact@profunnel.ai with the subject line "DNC Request" and the phone number you wish to be removed. We will honor your request within 24 hours and propagate it to our service partners within 48 hours, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable state telemarketing laws.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be indicated as appropriate. Your continued use of MyWild after an update means you accept the revised policy.
