Wyoming Heat Pump Rebates: Where They Actually Stand
What Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office has actually published, what it points homeowners at meanwhile, and which states are open today.
Where Wyoming actually stands
Wyoming publishes no home energy rebate programme of its own. 13 states out of 50 are taking applications, and 31 more have announced a programme without opening it.
- Wyoming has published no dollar figure for any measure. 21 states are in the same position, which usually means the programme design is not finished rather than that the money is small.
- The energy authority's list of everything it offers Wyoming residents contains exactly one entry, and it sends the reader to a different state agency for weatherization and winter heating bill help rather than to any rebate.
- There is no application to make yet. Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office is the office that will run it.

Wyoming has published no dollar figure yet
21 states are in the same position. An office that has named a programme and published no amount has told a reader something real rather than nothing: the design is not finished, and any figure quoted for Wyoming from somewhere other than Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office is an estimate of what the state might do rather than a number the state has published.
Wyoming runs no home energy rebate a homeowner can apply for, and the only thing its energy authority offers residents is the weatherization and heating bill help handled by the Department of Family Services.
Where Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office sends you instead
A utility programme is a different thing from a state one, with its own rules, its own contractor list and its own deadline, and in a handful of states it is worth more than the state programme it stands in for. 31 state offices publish a route like this, and on most of those pages it sits well below the announcement that brought the reader there.
What Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office points at
The energy authority's list of everything it offers Wyoming residents contains exactly one entry, and it sends the reader to a different state agency for weatherization and winter heating bill help rather than to any rebate.
The Wyoming Department of Family Services runs the Wyoming Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP). These programs help eligible low-income households in the state cover a portion of their monthly winter heating bills, get help with heating emergencies and improve their home's energy efficiency.Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office, read September 23, 2026. A Wyoming rebate is not the federal tax credit
These are two separate programmes and conflating them is the commonest error on pages about this. A Wyoming rebate is money off the job, applied for through Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office under its own rules. The federal credit is money off a tax bill, claimed when filing, with no application and no approval step. Different timing, different paperwork, and qualifying for one says nothing about qualifying for the other.
Wyoming Energy Authority, Wyoming State Energy Office does not address on its own pages whether the two can be claimed on one job. Only 10 state offices do, so the silence is normal rather than a signal either way.
13 states are taking applications, 31 are not
Wyoming is in the larger group. Only 13 of the fifty states are taking applications from homeowners, and 31 have announced a programme without opening it, which is the commonest position in the country. The states that are open are Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin.
Across the country 155 separate dollar figures are printed and 21 states print none at all. The spread has little to do with climate: it tracks how each state chose to divide a federal allocation between a small number of large whole home awards and a large number of small per appliance ones.
