The season

What fills Willow Falls, and when

The Willow is a western Wisconsin river that runs on rain and modest melt: spring turns the wide rock staircase into connected whitewater, summer relaxes it into the wading terraces that fill weekend feeds. The falls reach flows freely; the park's dams sit elsewhere on the river.

Typical best flow: Mid March through mid June

What the agency itself says
This popular park in northwest Wisconsin features spectacular views of Willow Falls and the Willow River Gorge. Prairie remnants, miles of scenic hiking trails, family and group campgrounds, lakeside picnic areas and a nature center are all found within 2,800 acres of rolling countryside.
