Jackson Township School District Snow Day Predictor

About 15.2 inches a winter at a NOAA weather station 15.2 miles away, averaged over 9 winters. Between December 1 and March 31 that brings 2 weekday mornings a year with 2 inches of new snow or more, and 1 with 4 inches or more.

12 inches on March 22, 2018, the largest single day at a NOAA weather station 15.2 miles away in 9 winters. The snowiest winter was 2017 to 2018, with 40.5 inches.

It reads the National Weather Service forecast for Jackson through the night and the 5 to 8 am bus run, adds winter alerts and the Winter Storm Severity Index, and measures the snow against Jackson Township’s own big snow morning: 7.3 inches, the top tenth of snowy weekday mornings at a NOAA weather station 15.2 miles away.

New Jersey requires at least 180 days of school, or the district loses state aid.

A virtual or remote day counts toward the 180 days only when schools close for more than three consecutive days because of a declared state of emergency, a declared public health emergency or a health agency directive, under a program the commissioner approved.
